Larissa is in constant motion as dancer/choreographer, teacher, outdoor enthusiast, and as the Development Director for Spy Hop Productions. A native of Athens, Ohio Larissa originally moved to Salt Lake City to pursue her BFA in modern dance from the University of Utah. While studying modern dance Larissa was privileged to work with some of the best choreographers in country, danced pre-professionally with the Performing Dance Company, choreographed her own works, and also performed with Repertory Dance Theatre during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. She received her BFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah in 2002.
After a stint as a ski bum in Tahoe and traveling across the world to experience life on a tiny island in Indonesia, Larissa packed her bags and relocated to Ohio to serve as the executive director and faculty for Factory Street Studio. A firm believer in the arts and arts education, Larissa taught everything from modern dance technique to the creative process to students ages 3 to 75. As the director she found new funding for Factory Street Studio and helped the studio with renovations and many new building improvements.
Her passion for dance, the arts, and the great outdoors eventually led her back to Salt Lake City in 2007, where she worked as the assistant producer for Dance Theatre Coalition. While providing her skills as a grant writer to DTC, Larissa also found time to teach dance at The McGillis School.
