Emily was born in Memphis, TN, home to the world's best BBQ. At an early age she developed a fascination with different cultures and travel which led her west to attend University of Colorado, Boulder and earn a B.A. in International Affairs and Anthropology. Emily's adventurous spirit has led to amazing experiences in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. After traveling solo for six months in Asia, Emily returned to the U.S. with a mission to educate youth about the world.

Emily has taught both within the United States and beyond. As a member of AmeriCorps, she taught at Heifer International's ranch in Arkansas. In North Carolina, she taught outdoor education programs, and in Costa Rica and Fiji led community service and cultural immersion programs for U.S. students. Her experience also comes from a range of classroom settings. Emily taught in schools in Memphis, TN, Columbus, OH, and Alexandria, VA.

In the classroom, Emily used various technologies to teach content and empower students to take ownership of their learning. Emily loves the challenge of figuring out new ways to engage students.
