Whether you have a camera at home and make films everyday or if you just see images in your head and have the soundtrack nailed, we can take you one step further in your cinematic pursuits.
Our award-winning film program gives you hands-on instruction from mentors who are working in the field and believe everyone has a unique story to tell. Document the community you live in or make up one of your own in our narrative film workshops. Either way, you’ll get to see your dream on the big screen.
Our core classes are intended for ages 13 – 19 and Saturday SPARK classes are best for ages 7 – 12. Please see our class schedules for exact age breakdown by class.
2011-12 CLASSES
Here at Spy Hop Productions we use professional grade software and equipment such as Final Cut Pro Studio, Panasonic HVX and Canon 7D/5D cameras and top end lighting equipment.
WORKSHOPS
These three-week workshops gives students the opportunity to try new things, learn new skills and be able to jump in to Spy Hop more quickly. Ages 13 – 19
Workshops are held monthly, October through May.
REEL STORIES
Intensive documentary film class – each student will make their own 5-min documentary short. No prior experience necessary. Ages 15 – 19
WRITE-SHOOT-RIDE
The thrill ride of the summer – hit the road with other Utah teens to shoot a movie. Ages 16 – 19
WATCH THIS!

PITCHNIC
Spy Hop’s award winning yearlong film class is the next step in creative and technical film pursuits. Spend a year with 5 other passionate, experienced, creative teens to write, shoot and edit a 20-minute film that screens at a sold out event at the Rose Wagner theatre. Ages 16 – 19
FILM APPRENTICESHIP
Get paid to do what you love! Work 10 hours per week on design, film and audio projects for community businesses and gain real world work experience as you go. Ages 14 – 19
