Spy Hop in the Community takes its innovative, outcome-based programs to organizations across the Salt Lake Valley to reach young people who are at risk of not reaching their full potential.
We focus our outreach on youth who are failing academically, living in low-income neighborhoods, have limited access to quality after-school programming or have limited access to technology. Spy Hop’s programs help bridge the digital divide and promote positive relationships, civic awareness and engagement, 21st century life skills, creativity and self-awareness. Spy Hop in the Community provides under served young people a platform for them to express themselves and share their unique stories.
In 2010, through collaborations with community partners Spy Hop served over 850 young people ages 7 to 19.

To say this partnership has been a success would be an understatement. The students that are affiliated with my program are all in State’s custody, and are considered “at-risk” due to race, income levels and/or special education needs. School is not in the forefront of many of the students’ minds, but many of them leave this program with a sense of satisfaction that they have never experienced before. Their school attendance has improved, they grades have improved, and I believe it can be directly attributed to Spy Hop.
