APPLICATION DEADLINE: September 24, 2010
The Workshop: This ten-month workshop involves a group of students working together to run a youth-based, artist-driven record label. With the guidance of professional mentors and access to Spy Hop resources and tools, students will record, manufacture, promote and release four to five albums from different artists by the program’s end.
The Process: Students will begin the year by scheduling a calendar of record releases and artist performances for the year. The class will learn the day-to-day operations of a record label through collaborative exercises and promotional work on bands and artists signed to the label. Students will book shows, design fliers and album artwork, record and produce artists, utilize social networking sites, distribute music physically and digitally and design a budget for the year. In July, the entire year’s work will culminate
The Participants: We’re looking for young writers, designers and entrepreneurs to run Spy Hop
Records. Interns must have a strong drive, good work ethic, open mind, a commitment to completing
projects and a deep desire to learn throughout the process. Students must work well with others in a

registration. Outside of class time, students will be required to complete 6 hours of lab-time per week on
